CCM 57 – Yo, this Skill is so Overpowered to be a Failskill Tho

.

.

[Hm…?]

.

Before I took notice, all of my surroundings became a pure white space.

The only thing that can be found in this place is emptiness.

It’s just that the desolated territory continues to extend.

.

[…just where am I…?]

.

I just can’t help but mutter to myself even though I understand that this place is empty.

I should have been fighting against that Vanitas Roar just a second ago. I’ve been fighting together with everyone and by the time we’re about to give the final blow…

.

[Arios.]

.

It’s a woman’s voice.

The thought came to mind but — it really is the person I am expecting to find.

.

[It’s you… Goddess-sama.]

[Indeed… After you defeated the monster, It seems I was able to recover a bit of my powers .]

.

I turn around and look towards her – the Goddess Dies.

Her appearance remains the same from what I have seen from the flashbacks before. A beauty that I think no mortal could ever reach.

.

But then.

.

[You did a good job out there ain’t ya, Arios Makuba, the real sword saint.]

.

And there he goes, the guy who I shouldn’t have been able to meet but now feels someone I am familiar with. A man with a peculiar personality but a refined body and technique as he founded the swordsmanship of the Makuba family.

The first sword saint, Faruas Makuba.

.

[Haha, we’ve finally met. Yo, descendant. I’ve been wanting to see yah.]

[Our ancestor-sama…]

.

Just how could it be, really.

His voice is far kinder than Leon could ever be.

.

[A-ancestor sama…?]

.

Though my choice of word made Faruas smile wryly as he scratches the back of his head after hearing my response.

.

[You don’t have to be stiff. Ain’t no matter how long the generation gap is, it’s the same blood in our veins. Just speak comfortably.]

[Comfortably, you say…]

.

Yep, can’t shake off this tension just because you say so.

I mean, you’re the first saint you know?

A legendary figure that had reached far higher levels and planes than Leon could ever go.

.

[Fufu, that side of you really resembles Organt the most.]

[Ey, don’t lump me together with that womanizer!]

.

Fauras really has to bite back like that towards the gentle Goddess, huh.

.

By Organt, they should be referring to the very first king, right?

That carefree exchange just suddenly went out like an explosion though.

It just makes me realize how out of place I am compared to these people.

.

[Oops, ain’t really the time for us to talk about such stupid stuff.]

.

Fauras’ expression then changes as he extends to me his right hand.

.

[You did really great. The reason I can be proud of who I am is because you are my descendant – a true sword saint.]

[Haha… Thank you so much.]

.

I extend my own arm and shake his hand but I can’t do anything but respond with a strain smile.

.

[Still, I did not win just because of my own powers. It’s because there’s Rei, Kaya-san, Yuya-san, and even Rassen fighting with me.]

[Oh, considering how down to earth you are, it seems like your strength can still reach far higher above the sky. Much stronger than who you are right now — and into the future.]

.

Stronger than who you are right now — and into the future.

.

I agree.

Because to be honest, I can feel for myself that my skill <Cheat Code Manipulation> still has a lot of room to grow.

.

Rather, it feels like the abilities that I have on me right now are just a glimpse of it’s full capacity.

It’s a strong belief that I can’t help but think about my own skill.

.

Seriously, I even thought I had a failskill but this skill <Cheat Code Manipulation> is overpowered though.

.

[But… Are you guys okay? It seems that you guys have something to entrust to me, I think.]

[Oh yeah. I’m just actually about to discuss it with yah.]

.

The air around Fauras then changes from all seriousness to one that is solemn.

.

[Arios, you gotta be stronger than you could ever be. You better prepare yo self for the calamity that’s comin’.]

[Calamity, is it…]

.

Big word – and a heavy one too.

.

[The very reason for us to exist in this translucent state is cos we need to warn and guide you against the calamity that’ll be approachin’. Well, think of this state as an inferior version of <Reincarnation>.]

[Haha… Amazing… The scale has just gone too big I… I can’t now make sense of anything all of a sudden.]

[Maa~, that’s just fine as well.]

.

The Goddess Dies’ lips rose slightly as she looks at me a gentle smile on her face.

.

[When that time comes, then we will come and ask for your help. Please do not turn us away then…. Because… there’s no one else we can rely on but only you.]

[I see… I understand.]

.

I nod my head i acknowledgement then the Goddess Dies and Fauras’ bodies start fading.

.

[Oh… Time’s up, is it.]

[Haha, sorry ‘bout that. We really can’t hold out in this state for so long.]

.

Fauras’ grin has some tinge of guilt in them as he then extended his arms and let his hand some taps and rest on top of my shoulder.

.

[–I’m really glad. One of my descendants came to be a promising man such as you.]

[Fauras-san…]

[I’ll leave it to yah. If it’s you, then—]

.

With those words as his last, the Goddess and Fauras projections are now gone.

.

.

[………….]

.

The world has returned from what I remembered.

.

My vision has shifted from that purely white solitary space into the devastated battle arena.

.

Just like what the two of them had said, the monster Vanitas Roar was safely defeated. It occupies most of the stage though as it lies to the ground on its face.

.

Rei, Kaya, Yuya, and Rassen.

Everyone looks relatively okay.

Sure it’s exhausting but it’s such a relief that no one received any fatal damage.

.

We won.

Against such a terrifying monster, we’re able to defeat it on our own.

.

*clap* *clap* *clap* *clap*

.

Claps then resounded out of nowhere.

.

It started with a handful, gained some momentum, and now the cheers reverberates all over the venue and the stadium.

.

The fight against the Vanitas Roar didn’t take much time after all. Not everyone has fully evacuated yet and those who remained witnessed the battle.

.

[Woooooooahhh!!!!!!! The best!!!!!]

[Kyaa!!!!! Arios-sama!! Thank you!!!]

[You saved us!!!]

[So cooooooooooolll!!!]

.

From this moment, almost everyone in this place acknowledges me and the strength I demonstrated. The voices that are pouring down right now are far different from what I was hearing from the start.

.

–Still, I’m glad I was able to protect everyone.

It was a little hard but it was worth the while.

.

I cherish these passing seconds and reflect — but, someone just really has to pour cold water at this moment.

.

[Just splendid! As expected of my son! You really live up to our name as a Makuba and I can’t help but feel any more proud!!]

.

It’s the sword saint. Leon Makuba.

  1. Yo, that Leon ruined that moment. Now he wants to claim Arios as his son, after screaming for Dudley to kill him. F@#& off though! I wonder what calamity is approaching!
    Thanks for the chapter

  2. Wow seriously Leon? He just made the list of characters I’d like to bring to life ski can kill, just to resurrect and kill again.

  3. Not just Leon, that entire audience infuriates me. They were all mocking him like half an hour ago. He should spit in their faces and get out of there.

    1. lol lol ,u should read chinese novels once then ,there the whole existence of audience can be summed up in 3 lines:
intro to scene : his trash , weak ,nothing great etc.
during the scene : impossible, how can he etc.
end of scene : amazing,he’s the true hero etc
