Chapter 55-1: Conquering the Territories of the Black Gigantos in the Lower Levels

The floors where the new enemy called black giganto wanders.

We’ve known right at the moment we landed on to the twelfth floor that clearing this place poses a rockier road compared to the middle levels.

.

[<Flame Strike>! These guys are really tough! They’re like some scrubs that you can just find anywhere loitering around. I would have love it if they can only be consistent in that logic by them having the same power of small fries!]

.

Sybilla screams but keeps on unleashing her offensive magic.

…No, don’t you think you have to be consistent with your role as a goddess as well instead of shooting tens of fire magics like a demon lord?

.

[<Abyss Nail>… Well, you’re right. It makes you doubt whether a high level magic is indeed really of a high level against these.]

.

The area around the gigantos then started to get swarmed by the surrounding black goblins.

.

[<Dark Sphere>, <Dark Sphere>. These goblins are getting annoying. Just how did the previous Dusk Magi able to deal with all of this?]

[<Fire Javelin>! I didn’t have any expectations or precognitions about mages so I did my best to prepare for everything! Guh. <Fire Javelin>!]

[<Dark Sphere>. What preparation then!?]

[Full body armor!]

.

…When you say full body armor, do you mean that type where one is like a man of metal covered from head to toe up to the tips of their fingers like those that are being worn by shielders…?

.

[It’s because unlike Russell, we don’t have access with recovery and defensive magic at that time so I had no choice but to make it at least physically impossible for arrows to reach us. <Flame Wave>!]

.

Sybilla took care of the monsters one after another using the magic that I’ve never seen before.

Clearing this round of goblin however caused her now to drink her second magic (mana) potion.

It’s clear as day for me that we’re moving at a fast pace.

.

[Are we really alright moving at this pace compared to your experience before?]

[The fact is our circumstance is much better this time as we don’t need stamina potions because of you. You see, the lower levels are very different from the middle levels in that it’s a battle of endurance that losing so means you’ll die. We really have it better than before.]

.

If that’s what Sybila says then that must be the case.

Strategies are things that an inexperience person like me isn’t something to worry about.

.

[Anyway, isn’t your mana the thing we should be worried about, Russell? You’ve been firing nails just until recently then used spheres.]

[I still don’t feel any symptoms of mana exhaustion for now so it seems like I’m still fine.]

[Uwaa how unfair! Seeing you taking it easy makes me feel reassured. But seriously, it feels so unfair that it makes me irritated like sh*t!]

.

Please don’t use words like ‘sh*t’ with such a beautiful face.

You’re even throwing a fit for an illogical reason.

Wait, if it’s this girl, perhaps I can take it as a compliment….

.

[But you look a bit tired already, Sybilla-san… Is it really okay for us to go on?]

[I appreciate the concern but I can still go for a mile, you know? Besides, I don’t think we’ll be able to make our strategy work if I stop here. Besides…]

.

Sybilla then clenches her fists repeatedly.

.

[I’m now a level 31 Mage at the moment. The monsters here give lots of experience. However, they are so tough we can’t hold back that’s why I hope there will be no bad feelings whoever gets the kill, alright?]

.

So Sybilla’s level is that high already, huh. If the experience from black gigantos can still be said high even on level 31 then these monsters are really worth fighting for.

Even if the experience isn’t concentrated to just one person, it’s probable that everyone will still have their levels grow.

.

[Ofcourse. It helps that there are lots of monsters around too. You okay with it, Emmy?]

[That’s right. It makes you think we’re fortunate that there are many around, right? Sure, let’s go and beat them.]

[It’s reassuring to be with people who think that lots of monsters is a thing to be thankful, no?]

.

Sybilla gave Emmy a mana potion as she laughs like she’s getting tired of something.

.

[Wah…!]

[You’re actually pushing yourself too hard already don’t you, Emmy-chan?]

[Ahaha… So you notice…]

[Protection and magic coating truly are the best defensive magic. And since they are the best out there, it is understandable that they consume high amounts of mana. I’m keeping your number of uses in my head and thought that it’s about time you hit your limit.]

.

So she’s thinking that far when she’s keeping her eyes on us, huh.

I feel grateful for her to follow through on things I myself can’t do.

.

She has superb knowledge about classes and obviously to Hell and demon lords.

A big part of me now wants to learn all of these things from her.

.

[Russell can provide recovery magic but he can’t replenish mana. If he is capable of doing so then won’t he just be able to cast recovery magic indefinitely… On second thought, it isn’t that different from what you’re doing right now though.]

[Russell’s amazing, right… How do you do that?]

[It’s something I want to know myself too…]

.

I don’t really understand mana how one’s mana gets exhausted. Even Sybilla is so lost on how it is possible for me to have such an amount of mana that she wants to question who brought me in this world despite me having no memories about them.

.

Perhaps there is something that had happened behind my birth.

….Maybe I’d ask about it to Fredrica and Gemma-baa-san when I get back.

.

[Let’s move on to the next floor then.]

.

I nod my head towards Sybilla and start to make our way down the stairs toward the next level ending this short break.

.

.

The thirteenth floor is different compared to the earlier floor in that there are now two gigantos appearing at the same time.

And the person who is affected the most by that change is no one else but Emmy.

.

[<Flame Strike>! Guuhhh… Are you alright, Emmy-chan!?]

[If it’s just about defending and blowing them away then I can still do it!]

[Splendid! <Flame Strike>! <Flame Wave>!]

.

Emmy has both of her hands on her shield deflecting attacks from both of the gigantos while dodging some of them from time to time and blowing them off with her shield.

Then me and Sybilla showers them with magic one after another while they are still down and finish them off before they get up.

.

[Wind Barrier’s really amazing isn’t it… It’s ability to allow us to ignore the black goblins takes a really heavy load from our shoulders.]

[Agreed. Together with the numerous black waves as the aftermath effect of <Dark Sphere> we’re able to deal with them and steadily focus on the gigantos.]

[Yeah. I’ll leave the goblins to you like some bonus packages that come with the gigantos then. <Flame Waves>!]

.

Sybilla’s magic that I just saw earlier is her unleashing a cluster of flames towards the enemy then spreads to a range of an area. It looks like it deals quite a lot of damage too. The mana consumption however looks pretty steep as well.

.

Even so its power seems to increase together with her level.

I can’t let myself get left behind.

.

[<Dark Sphere> <Dark Sphere>…. <Abyss Nail>]

.

We’ve wiped out the swarms of black goblins, then I release a strong one to the giganto.

We’ve repeated the process several times and defeated the black giganto… I just remember that Adoria’s demon lord isn’t as tough huh…
