CCM 16 – Yo, I Just got Suddenly Raise on a Higher Regard Though

[Though I said I’ll show you around, there’s nothing much to show in this place though.]

.

Kaya speaks while smiling as she walks in front of me.

.

[But it is a peaceful place and nature is pretty abundant. Though, if you find this place nice to live with just because of these things I’d be really happy.]

[Haha. Thanks for showing us around. It’s fine, really.]

.

Like Rei, I’ve lived all my life in the imperial capital. That’s why she must have been worried. Whether I find this place suitable for me or not…

.

But it’s true, this place is just too peaceful and quiet.

The imperial capital is bustling with people going in and out every day and night but in this place, there’s no one else aside from us outside.

.

I wonder if every resident is staying inside their homes, or perhaps the general population of the village is just small… But it’s probably both. It’s such a fresh sight from someone like me who came from the imperial capital.

.

However, despite its small size, numerous facilities can also be found.

.

Adventurer’s guild.

A children’s school.

And a variety of business facilities.

.

But, getting a closer look of these places would be better be put off until tomorrow.

.

We can’t make a ruckus when everyone’s apparently already going to sleep. Especially now that I am going to stay here (as originally planned), so it’s better to avoid causing any bother.

.

Also, to be honest, I’m already kind of sleepy.

There have been quite a lot of things that have happened today so it can’t be helped.

.

I say my thoughts to Kaya who looks kind of disappointed but still replies that she understands.

.

[If possible, I want to ask Arios-san to teach me about swordsmanship today but… I guess it can’t be helped.]

[Ha? Swordsmanship?]

.

What is this girl saying.

I have nothing I can teach to an A rank adventurer though.

.

[Yes. The technique you used earlier was really magnificent. Phoenix Sword… was it?]

[No no no no. That’s nothing compared to my father’s.]

.

On that note, if my father, Lion Makuba, is measured in the same terms as adventurers, he will rank as S.

It says that his power almost rival the S rank adventurers whose count are only a handful in the whole world.

.

[Ara ara, that is not so nice of you, Kaya. I am the one who will be receiving his teachings for the rest of this day after all~]

.

Rei suddenly joins the conversation while abruptly pulling my arm.

.

[No no no no. What are you even saying…]

.

Rei doesn’t use swords, isn’t she.

What am I supposed to teach you.

.

[I am reaaaalllly thankful there’s no one else around us. You should really consider the things you do and your position.]

.

Kaya rebutts immediately with a tad of displeasure.

.

[…But let’s just leave that for now. Nee, Arios-san.]

.

Kaya then turns to me and her expression immediately changes.

.

[I heard the things about you. In truth, I know that you are having a hard time.]

[As expected, you’ve known of it.]

.

The day when the priest declared that I am a failskill.

It’s been a week since then but the speed of how the news already spread is really quite frightening. Well, this girl is an A rank adventurer so she must have a fast and reliable source of information.

.

[I know that you not being able to succeed the sword saint must have been a disheartening experience but… I don’t think the same after seeing you fight. Arios-san, you are a swordsman that will be a key figure of this generation.]

[eh….]

[That’s why, please don’t feel so down. Arios-san is splendid as he currently is right now.]

.

Haha.

How should I say this… It must be that.

She’s definitely overestimating my abilities in combat.

.

Yep. Still, it actually makes me happy.

.

That my way of living wasn’t just actually meaningless.

Because that’s what I’ve been thinking after all this time.

.

[Un! I think so as too!]

.

Rei also voices her support to Kaya’s thoughts while raising her hand.

.

[Compared to that guy Dudley, Arios is just much better. I am sure even Lion-san is already reaping the hardships of his decision~?]

[I wonder…]

.

I’ve just heard but that Dudley has the worst kind of character, huh.

Nonetheless – father has chosen to adopt that orphan.

He chose to raise the person who acquired the skill Silver Sword Saint over me, who is his own flesh and blood.

.

After everything’s that said and done, I have no any intention of going back.

.

[…Well then, I’ve occupied you for too long. Let’s disband now and take some rest.]

.

The topic brought us a long awkward silence which Kaya just now ended.

.

[So? Where do you intend to stay the night? Perhaps in the house of the parents of Rei’s mother?]

[Un. That’s right. That’s what we want to.] (Rei)

[Got it… Then, you better not lay your hands on Arios-kun. PLEASE GREATLY CONSIDER YOUR STANDING. YOUR STANDING.]

[Eh? Oh my, whatever are you talking about~]

.

Rei whistles as she replies to what Kaya says.

.

[Just what are the both of talking about….]

.

I just look at these two people halfway on giving up to understand their words.

Translator’s Notes:

  1. If you are looking for a sign if your life actually has a meaning, then this is it! 🙂
  2. I am not sure if I can complete another chapter for the rest of the day but let’s see. Lower your expectations though.
  3. Also, this thing I almost forgot. ‘san’ is a formal honorific Japanese use to people. Kaya refers to Arios with san upon talking to him directly and in regard to his swordsmanship. But in the end, she refer to Arios with ‘kun’, an honorific use for younger person or for a person with lower hierarchy. After all, in this context, Arios is nothing but just a prey of the princess. :3 Hoho. Or just might be a typo on the JP. IDK. Hahaha
