CCM 11 – Is it Possible even for me to Be A Fine Swordsman even if I am this Kind of Person?

[Eh…?]

.

Yuya wasn’t able to help himself but utter something as he stared fully dumbfounded.

He is so shocked but in a different way compared to what earlier has happened.

.

[Arios-kun…? Just now, that’s….]

[……]

.

Hey, to be frank, even I myself is shocked.

.

A monster designated as class A – Giant Orc. A terrible monster that even 3 rank A adventurers’ attempt on defeating ended up in failure.

.

And that very same monster — has been easily pushed back down with just a single slash.

.

As expected, this ability <Attacks Power Up (Low)> is really out of the norm. It’s just way too strong.

.

But.

This isn’t the time for me to think about this stuff.

.

We should prioritize first evacuating the injured. Now that the Giant Orc has fallen, we can use this chance to give them a breather.

.

[Are you alright? Can you hear me?]

.

I rush to the side of the female adventurer and kneels to call out to her.

.

[Uh…..]

.

Looks like she’s still able to hold a bit of her consciousness.

But she remains to be in danger.

If left alone, in the worst case scenario, her life would be over.

.

[Forgive my rudeness!]

.

I immediately take out an Elixir from my pouch and pour its contents to the female adventurer’s mouth.

.

Elixir.

A rare item that can heal a person’s body in an instant.

.

It’s something that Rei has stealthy given to me right before I set out.

.

Sure it’s rare and hard to find, but it is not enough of a reason for me to just let someone die.

.

[Ah…!]

.

The female adventurer’s eyes then opens widely.

Perhaps the elixir made her wavy consciousness fully awaken.

.

[It – it doesn’t hurt anymore…? You, don’t tell me the thing you’ve given me is…]

[It’s an Elixir.]

[But how… Just for someone like me… I’m sorry…]

[NouUnunNNOoooooooooooo!]

.

The female adventurer’s voice then drowns from the volume of that scream.

.

The raging Giant Orc let us know how viciously angry it is through its howl. The vibration from it’s scream seemingly distorts even space.

.

This — looks like it’s going to get on a rampage.

Blood is dripping down continously from its one and only eye.

.

[ugh…! This damned monster…!]

.

The female adventurer then lunges down as she warily looks at the giant orc while slowly moving backwards.

.

In front of the girl who is clearly frightened, I choose to take a step forward.

.

[Please assist your companions and retreat to safety. As for this one – please let me alone handle it.]

[Wh-what are you!!!]

.

The female adventurer then shouts with shock clearly visible in her eyes.

.

[I know that you are strong! But so is that monster! It will really be dangerous if you are to fight alone!]

[…Then, are you saying that you will be fighting as well? Using that sword you are holding?]

.

I shifted my eyes to the sword of the female adventurer.

.

I really don’t have to say it explicitly but it’s not in any usable state as it’s completely worn down.

It might be due to the fight with the giant orc alone but it’s blade is completely chipped. That wouldn’t probably even make a scratch against this monster.

.

[….Ha.]

.

The female adventurer then lets out a deep breath.

.

[…So you’ve noticed. I thought I was doing well in hiding it.]

[Well, it’s one of the basics.]

.

I’ve done nothing but swords my whole life just so you know. Knowing this much is an obvious matter.

.

[It’s alright. I, just like you, don’t want to die. I’ll manage somehow and show you that I’ll make it out alive.]

[…Is that so…]

.

The female adventurer returns her sword back into its sheath and stares right into my eyes.

.

[Please tell me one last thing. Please tell me the name of the heroic swordsman who saved my life.]

.

[Arios. Arios Makuba.]

[Arios Makuba….]

.

The female adventurer then, after hearing my name, has once again widened her eyes in shock.

.

[So that’s how it is… You’re…]

.

She then turns around as the wind carries to me the words she softly mutters.

.

[My name is Kaya Rutis. No matter what everyone around says, you are a fine swordsman. So please… Stay alive.]

.

Leaving those words behind, Kaya then began to run towards her companions’ side.

Translator’s Note:

  1. Tomorrow’s a break for this one. Gotta interpret Saint of Black Kite! Also, no matter what everyone else around says about you, you are a fine human! Yey! Hahahahaha. Srry for random words, just had a wonderful conversation with some strangers earlier and the good vibes still lingers. Happy weekend!
