CCM 008 – Yo, Seems like my Parents’ House Is in A very deep Trouble

We’re on our way to Rastal village as of the moment.
We’re swaying in our seats inside the carriage as I strain my ears from just hearing a shocking story from Rei.

.

[Is that guy for real… That Dudley, to be such a….]
[Un. The Makuba family is probably in chaos right now.]

.

Dudley Claise is the orphan who received the skill <Silver Sword Saint> last time.

.

And apparently, someone who’s known to be a problem child.

.

He has this nasty kind of personality even before he got his skill.
A known troublemaker in the orphanage and is pretty notorious as a bully.
He seems to be blessed with a good physique which is where he gets his confidence.

.

Furthermore, the people I saw back in the church who seems to be with him weren’t actually there to support him. They’ve been sincerely praying instead for Dudley to get a failskill according to one of those people.

.

Which is kind of ironic since what Dudley got instead is the strongest skill <Silver Sword Saint>.
Dudley will probably succeed my father based on the current situation. His name will spread as a sword saint and achieve greater and higher feats than his predecessors.

.

That’s probably the reason he’s able to flaunt his arrogant personality.

.

[But father… Did father not say anything about this!?]

Rei then shakes her head in response to my question.

.

[Un. That seems to be the case. He is turning a blind eye to it or so I heard.]

[…….]

.

Turning a blind eye, huh…

.

I see.

Father will always put the duty of the family to the royalties above everything else.

.

Which is why I met Rei in the first place, but on the other end, it shows that he is the person who is afraid the most in case of any possibility of severing ties with them.

.

Otherwise, how else could he just coldly abandon me, his own son.

.

With that being the case, he will never let Dudley go, regardless how haughty he acts in the house.
The person who has the one and only skill, ‘Silver Sword Saint’….

.

[Nee? Do you really understand the situation?]

.

Rei then looks intently into my eyes.

.

[You were supposed to be the one to serve as my retainer, the one who will always stay by side. Now that you are not allowed to do so, to whom do you think the task will be entrusted then?]
[Yeah….]
[That’s why I hate how things are going. Failskill or whatever, I don’t care. Me and you are… a.]

.

Hm? I wait for Rei’s words but then her face starts to redden,

.

[N-n-n-nevermind!]

.

Didn’t expect waiting a girl can possibly end this fast.

.

[Hm? What’s that you trying to say?]

[Nevermind! Forget it!]

[Ge-guess so…]

.

I don’t really understand what’s with her just now but the situation of the Makuba family in my head is crystal clear.
To be honest, saying I don’t have a care about them anymore would be nothing but just a lie. It’s still my parents and the family I grew up with nevertheless.

.

However.
I don’t have any intention to go back anymore.
My father has already abandoned me and chose to adopt an orphan. Even all the people in the imperial capital’s attitude immediately changed when they branded me as a failskill.

.

It’s not a place I really want to return to even in the slightest.

.

Right now, I am thinking of immersing in life on my own. The only thing that filled my world until now had just been swords after all. I want to see more of what this life and world has to offer.

.

…With that being the case, what should I do now.

.

I really don’t mind if I die while pursuing this idea at any moment but Rei will probably not allow me to do so. I guess it’s better to live a life looking for what’s ahead of me for now in a slight bit. .

But if I recall correctly…

.

[Rei. Rastal Village has an adventurer’s guild too, right?]
[Eh? Un. I think it’s kind of small though.]
[I see….]

.

Since that’s the case then why shouldn’t I try to become an adventurer then.

I didn’t do anything else in life apart with the sword as I have already said. So I am not capable of doing anything well unless it’s related to combat, which is basically not that persuasive anymore as I ended up as a  failskill.

.

Rei has probably read what I am currently thinking with just the expression on my face alone.
Easy for me to tell since she’s already leaning her body to my direction with both of her eyes seemingly sparkle.

.

[Nee! Would it be okay if I become an adventurer too with you!?]

[Ha…]

.

I need her to give up on here, really.

.

[Isn’t that basically impossible? Aren’t the people in Rastal Village know that you’re a royalty?]

[Fufufufun. It’ll be fine! I am close with the guild master there and in fact I’m already registered with an alias ♪~]

[Eh…..]

.

Seriously?
Doesn’t that make you a senior adventurer compared to me.

.

[Waaai. An adventuring outing with Arios, how exciting!]

.

.

No, really, this seems nothing but trouble for me though.

Translator’s Note:

  1. Hi! I was taking it slow since I was waiting for krullscans (original translator in NU) to return but it’s almost 5 months and there’s not any update yet. I don’t know what happened but let’s all hope that it’s nothing serious and everyone is well and safe. I sent him an e-mail just in case but for now I’ll chase down the existing chapters until next week – and I think I should continue on my own version to keep the consistency.
